Technical Data

Standards

M. Putterman & Co. corrugated polyethylene drainage pipe and fittings are manufactured for underground drainage applications where soil support is given to the flexible walls. Its major use is to collect and convey drainage water by open gravity. The pipe is manufactured to the highest quality control standards using high quality high-density polyethylene. The pipe or exceeds the following specification:

Workmanship

M. Putterman & Co. corrugated drainage pipe shall be homogenous throughout and free from foreign inclusions or visible defects. The pipe shall be uniform in color and free of internal obstructions, defective seams or mold parting lines.

Inside Diameter

M. Putterman & Co. pipe has a tolerance of +/-3% of the specified inside diameter measured in accordence with ASTM D2122

Pipe Stiffness

The pipe will have a minimum pipe stiffness of 35 PSI at 5% deflection when tested in accordance with ASTM D2412

The various size have the following outside diameter.

Perforations

The pipe has cleanly cut and uniformly spaced slots in rows along the pipe located in the valleys between the corrugations. Outlined below is a table or drainage openings of each size.

Leachfield

4" Leachfield pipe shall have three rows of holes 5/8 inches in diameter located 60 degrees apart with the middle row of holes on the bottom centerline of the pipe. The holes will be 3 - 5" on center. The top of the pipe will have a locating stripe on it.

Resistance to Extreme Conditions

M. Putterman & Co. plastic pipe is tested for environmental stress, cracking, high temperature strength and low temperature flexibility by an independent testing laboratory with no evidence of failure.

Elongation (Stretch)

The pipe shall have a maximum elongation percentage of 5% when tested in accordance with ZSec. 6.3.2 of ASTM F405.

Pipe Flattening

The pipe will withstand 20 percent deflection with no evidence of buckling, cracking, splitting or delamination

Installation Requirements

M. Putterman & Co. plastic pipe should be installed in accordance with ASTM F449 Subsurface Installation of Corrugated Thermoplastic Tubing for Agricultural Drainage and SPI installation guidelines
